We are walking to raise funds for Oxfordshire Welfare Rights and Barton Advice Centre, experts in social welfare law and debt, supporting the community for positive outcomes.

Our agency, based in the centre of Barton, help some of the poorest and most vulnerable people in Oxfordshire.

Poor people have suffered most from the recession and benefits decisions are often wrong, causing great financial hardship and misery. People come to the centre in crisis, barely able to manage their day to day financial responsibilities such as providing food and paying their living expenses. The centre can provide assistance with challenges against benefit decisions, money management and budgeting and has access to a range of other services that people may need. Digital support is also offered by the centre; training people on how to access the internet, to look at energy savings, online food shopping, skills to access work and social media training to alleviate social isolation.

The funds needed to provide the services to help these people are scarce.

This will be the 3rd time we have walked the Oxford Legal walk and I cant tell you the difference that the funds raised makes.

So please, if you can, support our walkers as generously as you are able.

    Many thanks
